Turner Imaging Systems Announces Closing of Seed Investment Round
Orem, Utah -11/20/2017 – Turner Imaging Systems, developer of the Smart-C battery-powered mini C-arm, announced today the successful closing of its seed funding round. The round was led by venture capital firm Cavendish Impact Capital with participation from other private investors.
“We share in Cavendish Impact Capital’s dual mission to provide a financial return to investors and have a positive impact on global healthcare outcomes,” said Dr. D. Clark Turner, President & CEO of Turner Imaging Systems. “These funds will allow completion of our Smart-C technology, which brings operating-room quality imaging into a field-portable configuration. This technology will improve imaging capabilities worldwide, particularly in underserved regions without access to state-of-the-art equipment.”
Additionally, Turner is excited to announce that John Evey, Managing Director of Cavendish Impact Capitol has joined the Board of Directors and will provide us with his broad perspectives on growing life science companies”, stated Clark Turner, CEO. Since 2012, John Evey has provided independent strategic assistance to corporations with a special focus on companies in the life science and clean technology sectors that can do well financially while also producing substantial social benefit. That action followed a 36-year career in the charitable and educational sector, primarily leading development programs for major nonprofit organizations and three universities.

Turner imaging Systems will use the proceeds from this funding round to finance operations, continue development efforts related to its innovative technology, and commercialization of the Smart-C Portable C-Arm upon regulatory approval from the US Food and Drug Administration.
